Are you a Management major (any track) starting your third or fourth year in the fall?
The Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy (ELA) is a new 2-semester course sequence designed by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) to give you hands-on experience in project management.
Application deadline Friday, April 10.
The ELA is a specialized entrepreneurial leadership immersion experience for students to expand their leadership, team work, and strategic business consulting skill-set and gain a competitive advantage in finding an internship or full-time job.
- The first course (ELA I, listed under MGMT:4000) prepares students to actively manage and lead all phases of a business project. Topics covered include client management, advanced project management skills, how to have tough conversations at work, and how to structure and lead a meeting for optimal results.
- During the second course (ELA II), student teams under the direction of experienced entrepreneurs and C-level executives will provide strategic management consulting services to Iowa-based companies. Students will independently communicate with their client, learn to employ the latest techniques for assessing competitive markets and identifying growth opportunities, and ultimately develop recommendations and prepare a final report for their client.
I’m interested! How do I get started?
The first cohort will begin in fall 2020. Students are required to apply to the program at https://www.iowajpec.org/students/real-world-experience/entrepreneurial-leadership-academy. Application deadline is April 10.
