The Tippie College is working with colleagues across campus to implement the Pass/Nonpass grading option that is available for undergraduate students this semester. Students have the option to receive either the letter grade assigned by the professor or a P/NP designation for each course.
We don’t have all of the details ironed out to guide your decision making, yet the good news is that the decision deadline is more than a month away—May 8th, the last day of spring semester classes. This coincides with the new last day to drop courses. When UPO advisors have more information, we will be happy to answer your questions.
We encourage you to settle in to your new online courses over the several weeks before making a decision about grading. It may take a few class meetings to adjust. It’s normal to experience some transitional issues as you learn how to keep learning with online instruction.
The University will be sending information about the process to declare P/NP in several weeks along with answers to frequently asked questions including what you should consider when making a decision.
