Hawkeye Service Breaks exist to promote service learning, social justice, and community building to University of Iowa students during an alternative break.  The 2020 participants will enroll in a 3 s.h. course in the spring semester in a 10 week course that meets in person for 1 hour 15 minutes once per week in addition to a weekly online module. Participants will also travel with their teams to their city over spring break (March 14-19) and work with nonprofit partners to address a specific topic in the community. To cover most costs associated with this trip (travel, lodging, meals, activities, etc.), the course includes a $175 fee.  A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.

Students can find more information on the website: https://leadandserve.uiowa.edu/programs/service-teams/

Students in the Tippie College of Business and Pre-Business students are strongly encouraged to apply to the Tippie sponsored location in Detroit, Michigan at the link above.
