It’s time to mark your calendars as the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa presents our 8th Annual Black in Business Series Networking Dinner. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to make arrangements and Save-the-Date for Saturday, February 24th, 2024 for a night of empowerment for all who attend.

Networking Dinners are held each February in celebration of Black History Month. All majors and interests are welcome at this special event, including business, engineering, entrepreneurship, the arts, media, journalism, sports, education, non-profit, and more.

This event is invitation and RSVP only! Please direct inquires to Tevin Robbins if you like to be emailed an official RSVP link. Attendees get a fun/professional networking event with a chance to dress up and meet other students, staff/faculty, and industry professionals from a variety of fields and companies from across the country. There will be amazing speakers and FREE professionally catered dinner, appetizers, and mocktails (w/ Bartender). Students get to be seated at tables with industry professionals while dining together, formal and informal networking, and keynote speakers including the Co-Founder of Humanize My Hoodie, the new President of Wieden + Kennedy Portland, and recent Tippie/UI Alumni(s).

If you haven’t already heard, the big ALL MAJORS Career Fair is next week on September 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the IMU! Over 160 recruiters will be there from companies looking to hire some Hawkeyes for jobs and internships.

For students seeking spring 2022 admission to Tippie there are only four easy steps:

  1. Review the admission criteria, and see your advisor or contact Lindsey if you have any questions.
  2. Apply to Tippie by Friday, October 1 via the Change of College Application on MyUI.
  3. Complete the Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR). The Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR) consists of a mandatory ICON module to be released after October 1. Admissions will cancel the applications of students who fail to complete the Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR).
  4. Ensure transcripts for any transfer courses are received by the Office of Admissions by January 10.

Note: courses taken during the winter session may not be used to meet admission criteria for spring.

  2. NEW! Apply to Tippie by Tuesday, September 1 via the Change of College Application on MyUI. You can apply now for spring 2021 to ensure you meet the deadline and we encourage you to do so.
  3. NEW! Complete the Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR). The Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR) consists of two mandatory sessions. The first session is a large-group information session, and the second is a small group session more focused on your course planning. Dates will be announced in early August. The participant application for 2020 Tippie Hawkeye Service Team focused on Economic Equity and Restoration in Detroit, MI is now open! Submit application before Tuesday, October 29 at 5:00 pm.

Hawkeye Service Breaks exist to promote service learning, social justice, and community building to University of Iowa students during an alternative break.  The 2020 participants will enroll in a 3 s.h. course in the spring semester in a 10 week course that meets in person for 1 hour 15 minutes once per week in addition to a weekly online module. Participants will also travel with their teams to their city over spring break (March 14-19) and work with nonprofit partners to address a specific topic in the community. To cover most costs associated with this trip (travel, lodging, meals, activities, etc.), the course includes a $175 fee.  A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.
