Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) Exam Prep

The Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) accreditation is administered by the National Association of Small Business International Traders and Educators, NASBITE International. “The CGBP credential confirms knowledge in international trade and assures that employees are able to practice global business at the professional level required in today’s competitive environment.” The Institute for International Business (IIB) at the Tippie College of Business is accredited by NASBITE International to offer CGBP exam prep. Dimy Doresca, our certified global business trainer, conducts the exam prep course.
This one semester hour course meets online Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm from August 27 to October 29 in fall 2020. There is an additional fee for the course of $270.00. Scholarships are available for students who qualify to cover the additional course fees and the cost of sitting for the exam.
This certification adds value to other internationally focused courses of study such as our international business certificate students’ portfolio. The International Business Certificate (IBC) program has been in existence at Iowa for over 20 years. Students complete up to 29 hours of coursework in this rigorous, interdisciplinary academic certificate, offered in conjunction with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students from all majors are welcome to pursue the IBC, as it appeals to many students beyond just business majors and is quite popular with world languages majors and international studies students.
