Underrepresented students that are interested in opportunities abroad have the opportunity to hear from students that have returned from studying and learn from their experience. Do you have questions or concerns about going abroad? Come chat with our panel!

Sally and Ken Mason Student Success Grant

Description/Eligibility for Award
Sally and Ken Mason Student Success Grants are available to support travel for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, to include travel to academic and professional meetings and conferences, study abroad, and any other student travel deemed beneficial to the student’s academic experience.  Preference will be given to first-generation undergraduate students.  At the University of Iowa, first-generation students are those students who do not have a parent(s) or legal guardian(s) who completed a four-year degree.  Students can request up to $500 per application, but no more than one $500 award will be made to any individual student.

The student’s travel must take place after December 1, 2019, but no later than May 15, 2020.

Application Instructions
Please use the online application form.

Include (by uploading via the online application form) the following supporting materials:

  • An estimated travel budget for the trip, and
  • One letter of support from a faculty or staff member or advisor (addressing how the student’s travel is deemed beneficial to the student’s academic experience, and how the travel supports and advances the student’s educational experience at the University of Iowa).

International Buddies at Tippie is back for the fall semester!

 

As a buddy, you are paired with a student from another culture for a semester of social events and friendship.  This fall, we’ll be eating well, spending time off campus, and offering our downtown discounts for coffees and meals with your buddy.

Deadline to apply is Monday, September 16.

Kickoff will be Tuesday, September 24, with matches made soon before that.

London Calling! Application Due 9/6

Be part of the 20th Anniversary of a Tippie tradition—Study abroad in London during winter break.  This year we are offering three courses—FIN: 4340 Wealth Management, FIN: 4240 International Finance and MSCI: 3920 Supply Chain Management.  Students select one course to earn 3 s.h. of credit.  This course fulfills the Tippie RISE requirement.
