Hawks Like You: A Guide to Study Abroad

Curious about studying abroad?

Underrepresented students that are interested in opportunities abroad have the opportunity to hear from students that have returned from studying and learn from their experience. Do you have questions or concerns about going abroad? Come chat with our panel!

  • October 23rd
  • 3 – 4:30pm
  • Pappajohn Business Building S401
  • No RSVP required

We will also have the IES Senior Diversity Relations Manager chat about information to overcome the barriers to study abroad, including academics, funding, safety and more. At the end of the event, we will host a small networking event to learn more about study abroad opportunities at Tippie and through the Study Abroad Office.

International Business Certificate

As you meet with your advisor about registration, ask about the International Business Certificate (IBC). Combine your curiosity about world cultures with coursework in international business. The IBC adds an international dimension to your degree with globally focused coursework, plus study abroad and language study options. It is a great way to use your non-business elective hours and select globally focused general education/business courses for your major.

The certificate includes 4 areas of study:

  • International Business
  • International Relations
  • Study Abroad and/or World Language
  • Area Studies based on where you study abroad or which language you study

Declare the IBC
You can declare the IBC by logging into MyUI and navigating to Student Information > Advising > Programs of Study and Advisors.

Questions?

  • Pull a “What-If” degree audit on MyUI for the IBC
  • Ask your academic advisor
  • Visit the IBC Webpage
