CIMBA Drop in Hour

Stop by the CIMBA office this Thursday to grab a coffee and meet with staff about studying abroad in Northern Italy! Staff will be on hand Thursday, 3/30 from 12:30-1:30 in the CIMBA office (C300, just around the corner from the BizHub). CIMBA Summer Open House

Join the Event Management Certificate team for an evening of cookie decorating, pizza, and information about two upcoming CIMBA summer courses: Social Media Marketing, and Public Relations & Experiential Events. Drop in anytime tonight between 5 and 6:30 to the Brownell Board Room in AJB to learn more and meet other interested students! CIMBA staff will also be on hand to answer general questions about the program.

Join CIMBA on Monday, September 19th from 4-5pm in W401 PBB to talk with alumni, staff, and academic advisors to learn more about the CIMBA program. Chat with us over pizza and visit stations to discuss finances, travel, and academics. This is a great opportunity to get any questions you might have answered and enjoy some free food!

CIMBA Study Abroad Info Session

This Thursday, CIMBA is hosting a small informational session all about spending the fall semester in Italy! Fall is a unique and rewarding time to go abroad – the CIMBA semester starts later than Iowa, meaning students can go from kickoff at Kinnick to experiencing cultural events like Oktoberfest and fall markets with fewer tourists and better weather. The session is this Thursday from 12-12:30 in C106. Seats are limited, so please RSVP here. Italian Culture Event

Together with the Italian Department, CIMBA is hosting an Italian Culture event – open to all! Learn some facts, customs, and misconceptions people have about Italy. What do certain hand gestures mean? Why can’t you order a “pepperoni” pizza in Italy? When can you drink cappuccinos in any given day? Come learn! FALL in Love with Italy

Can you imagine being in beautiful Italia in the fall? Mellow autumn weather, fewer tourists, and festivals galore! Join this session to learn why fall is our favorite time of year to study abroad. It’s not for everyone, but it might be perfect for you. At the end of this event, we will be doing a live raffle so some lucky winners can score a $500 scholarship award to use towards any upcoming CIMBA fall semesters! Register now!

Norman J. Kallaus Scholarship Winner Announced

Tippie marketing major Anna Vonderhaar has won the Norman J. Kallaus Spring 2021 scholarship. This award, established in 2020, is named in honor of Dr. Kallaus, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Kallaus was an advocate for strong communication skills in Tippie students and spent his career pursuing that priority. BCaP students who display exemplary communication skills are invited by their instructors to apply for this scholarship each fall and spring. This semester, the contestants each submitted a 90 second “elevator pitch” to a company of their choice. The Frank Center congratulates Anna on receiving this prestigious award.

CIMBA Italy announces a new virtual study abroad course this summer: IS:3550, Energy and Sustainability in Italy and the EU. This course fulfills the Int’l & Global Issues Gen Ed requirement and the study abroad section for RISE. It also counts toward the Sustainability Certificate.
