The University of Iowa’s Alpha Pi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi invites you to participate in its annual Meet the Firms Night. This is an exciting opportunity for your firm and our accounting students to get acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere.
When: Wednesday, September 25, 2019
Time: 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Iowa City, IA
Cost: $400, payable by check to Beta Alpha Psi by August 23, 2019
Attire: Business or Business Casual (students will be in professional dress)
In 2019, our event will be held the day of the University of Iowa’s Career Fair. If you would like us to arrange volunteers to help move your displays from the University Career Fair to Meet the Firms Night, please let us know. Be sure to indicate on the Reservation Form whether or not you want our help moving from the University Career Fair. If you would like to attend Meet the Firms Night, please complete the Reservation Form and mail your $400 check, payable to Beta Alpha Psi, by August 23, 2019. We will provide your firm with one six-foot table for your display and name tags for your representatives. You will be responsible for any other materials (table linens, table skirt, extension cords, etc.) that you will need. We ask that you provide us with the names of your firm’s participants so that we can prepare name tags and maintain our list of contacts.
Due to the strong interest in Meet the Firms Night, registration will be on a “first come; first serve” basis. We look forward to seeing you at Meet the Firms Night.
Firm Profiles
We will provide a link to the firm website your specify on the registration form, so that students can prepare for Meet the Firms Night.
We invite you to customize the information students have about you by providing a firm profile. Firm profiles are intended to give students a brief overview of your firm so that your time with them at Meet the Firms Night is more productive. You can customize your profile in any way you prefer. We will post these profiles at our website in addition to linking to firms’ websites.
Mock Interviews
We are also asking for volunteers to conduct mock interviews for accounting students during the week of Meet the Firms Night. The interviews will be scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, and from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 23, 24, 26, and 27. Other dates can be arranged if that is more convenient for your firm. Each interview will last 45 minutes, consisting of 30 minutes of interviewing and 15 minutes of evaluation. Please indicate on the Reservation Form whether your firm is interested in hosting interviews on one or more of these dates and the number of schedules you can accommodate. We will contact you to coordinate details.
