Facilitated by Career Center professionals, join the discussion with other graduating seniors, practice stress management techniques, and learn new job search strategies. The group meets every Thursday, but a weekly commitment isn’t necessary. Join us when you can and when you need it. We are here for you and are excited to support you in navigating the transition from college to career.

The UI STEP (Student to Employed Professional) program is a 3-step developmental approach focusing on bridging the gap between academics, student employment, career preparation and career readiness. This position will help grow UI STEP, student employment, and professional development programs on the UI campus and will allow the selected candidate the freedom to be creative while being involved in high-level programming scarcely seen on other campuses.
The Pomerantz Career Center is seeking motivated, engaging, and professional applicants to be considered for our Career Peer Advisor internship program. Our Peer Advisors are important members of the Pomerantz Career Center team! Peer Advisors provide staffing for our general drop-in services, review resumes and other professional materials, and assist with office outreach efforts. In addition, successful applicants will have the chance to develop advising skills, enhance public speaking ability, network with professionals, and gain useful knowledge for their own career development. This is a paid internship.

Mock Interviews allows you to practice your interviewing skills will real life employers and recruiters who have volunteered to help support our students by providing valuable feedback on ways they can improve interview skills. This fall, Mock Interviews are all held virtually and are registered for by applying through the “Job” search feature in Handshake. Just search for “Mock Interview” in the Keyword Search after clicking on “Jobs”.
