Commencement ceremony details – Fall 2021

Fall 2021 grads, congratulations!  We are so proud of your accomplishments here in the Tippie College of Business and are excited to see where your next adventure takes you!

Here are a few reminders if you are attending the commencement ceremony at Hancher Auditorium Saturday, December 18th:

  • Doors open at 12:00 p.m.  You should arrive no later than 12:15 p.m. Graduates should head to the Strauss Rehearsal Hall for line up.
  • Guests should be in their seats by 1:00 p.m. Tickets are not needed for guests.
  • The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m.  It will last approximately 75 minutes.
  • Do not bring any personal or valuable items with you to the rehearsal hall as there is no secure place to store them.
  • Parking information at Hancher can be found here.

If you did not RSVP for the ceremony but would still like to attend, please email Kate Mersch at katherine-mersch@uiowa.edu to be added to the list of attending graduates.

Make sure to pick up your cap and gown from the Hawk Shop if you haven’t yet!

Good luck on finals and we look forward to watching you cross the stage on Saturday!

Winter Break Hours and Info

Drop-ins will end on Friday, December 17th and will resume on Monday, January 10th.  You may still submit a question via the drop-in form.

Advising staff

This is a popular time for advisors to take a little break as well, so be patient as we respond to emails.  If you are wanting to meet with your advisor, their appointment availability will be updated on MyUI.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Did the section you wanted fill up? Get on the waitlist!

Early registration time can be a bit stressful, especially when a section of a course you wanted fills up before your registration time.  While there is no guarantee you will get into a particular section, joining the waitlist is the best thing you can do!  Then check out your backup plan and add another section or course if needed.

Graduating in December? Don’t forget to apply for your degree!

Hi Seniors!  Are you getting ready to graduate in December?  Make sure you log into MyUI and fill out the graduation application.

Deadline to fill out the application for Spring graduation is October 1st, 2021.

Not sure where the application is? Go to MyUI -> Student Information ->under Student Life Management -> Degree Application

It only takes a few minutes to fill out, but it is essential for graduation!

Thinking of adding or dropping a semester-long course this week?  Head to MyUI!

You are able to add courses in MyUI without any permissions, as long as there are seats.  You can still add yourself to waitlists, and they remain active until 11:59pm on Sunday, August 29th.

You can also drop a course on MyUI. Find instructions here. 

If the course is off-cycle, please check the add/drop deadlines.
