The writing assessment window is October 5-12 on ICON. Students who plan to enroll in accounting major courses (junior-level courses) in the spring 2021 semester should take the assessment within this window. If you earn a B- grade or higher (or a P grade in spring 2020) in BUS:3000 Business Communication and Protocol or have previously passed the Accounting Department writing assessment, then you have met this particular requirement for access to accounting major courses. Students must have either completed or be currently enrolled in ACCT:2200 Managerial Accounting (or course equivalent) to be eligible to take the writing assessment. Register for the assessment and read helpful information at the accounting writing assessment website. Contact Carl Follmer (carl-follmer@uiowa.edu) if you have any questions about registering or preparing for the assessment.
The event will take place this Wednesday, September 30th from 5:30-6:30pm. It’ll be a great chance for you to learn more about PwC, their D&I initiatives and environment, and a great networking opportunity.
Registration is required for this event.

Graduation is one of life’s greatest achievements. The pinnacle of all that has been achieved during your time at the Tippie College of Business. As you probably know, the Class of 2020 will not have the chance to experience the thrill of walking across the stage and receiving their diploma this spring due to the COVID-19 crisis.
While a physical graduation is not possible, we are calling on the Tippie alumni community to still celebrate our graduating seniors and honor their achievement with a #TippieToast on social media.
The #TippieToast is a weeklong celebration where you are invited to share a picture or short video with words of inspiration or congratulations to the Class of 2020. It is easy to participate, and you can do so on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Please know, the campaign will be primarily highlighted on Instagram. Below we have outlined how you can participate!
GESAB is comprised of student leaders who serve as advisors for the college on issues related to the international student experience and expanding global cultural awareness. GESAB’s mission is to promote a culture of inclusivity and global awareness both in and out of the Tippie classroom.
GESAB reflects the diversity of the undergraduate student body. Members agree to serve for at least a one-year term on the board, meeting both as a large group and in small subcommittee planning groups.
