Experience a new culture at Tippie while sharing your culture with someone new. International Buddies at Tippie places international and domestic students in small groups based on mutual interests. There are events throughout the semester, and you will regularly meet up with your small group for dinner, coffee, studying, or anything that you enjoy doing.
The Multicultural Business Student Association will be hosting our annual Taste of Tippie event next Thursday, September 15th. It will be from 6:30-8:00pm in room S401. This is an opportunity for students to come try FREE ethnic cuisine from locally owned restaurants and learn more about MBSA.
On Friday, September 23, the Tippie College will dedicate the new courtyard sculpture (called “Natural Pearl”) at 3 pm. Following the courtyard ceremony, there will be a “Conversation with Nigel Hall” in W401 at 3:30 pm. Stanley Museum of Art Director Lauren Lessing will interview British artist Nigel Hall. A reception will follow in the 4th floor of the BizHub. And make sure you check out the six drawings from Nigel Hall on display in the west reading room of the BizHub. For the next month, there are several smaller Nigel Hall sculptures on display in the Tippie Dean’s Office, the UPO Office, the Office of International Programs, and in the Art Library in Art Building West. Our thanks go to Dean Emeritus Gary Fethke and his wife Emeritus Professor Carol Fethke for their contributions of art to PBB.
Every business decision involves risk and every business needs to find a cost-efficient way to manage its risks. There is a whole industry that provides support and great career opportunities, especially here in Iowa where risk management and insurance accounts for 11% of the state’s GDP. These are rewarding careers in which Tippie graduates can make a difference and help businesses and individuals stay out of trouble.
In this session, we will hear from Tippie alumni about industry trends, the changing risk landscape and how insurance helps address cyber and other new risk exposures, new technology and innovation in the industry, their stories and their advice on how to start a successful career in risk management.

Tippie Senate is an advisory board of undergraduate students elected by the student body to establish an exchange of ideas, provide recommendations to the college, and create the best possible experience and environment for Tippie students.

Do you know an Iowa youth who has a passion or interest in science, technology, engineering or mathematics?
The STEM Council is accepting applications for the Youth Advisory Board! In this group, youth have the opportunity to take their experiences in STEM and help shape the mission of the STEM Council. This 15-member board will meet for one-hour quarterly, take on one project as a team and be a voice to their peers, helping the STEM Council connect with students.

Interested in careers in investment banking, private equity, trading and more? The Hawkinson Institute is Tippie’s undergraduate investment banking program. Our students have a 100% placement rate with firms like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, and others.
They will be accepting applications this semester from students planning to graduate December 2024 or later are encouraged to apply.
Applications may be downloaded from the Institute’s website. Applications are due on Friday March, 11th.
