Become a Peer Tutor

Are you a strong writer who believes in the importance of clear and logical communications? Are you looking for a chance to build job experience for your résumé? You can earn course credit for working in the Writing Center.

To begin the application process, please contact the Director, Jessica Renaud, at jessica-renaud@uiowa.edu. We require a résumé, a reference letter from a professor or employer, and successful completion of an in-person writing exercise. Please note also that new tutors must attend weekly training, which takes place on Thursdays from 6-8pm and on 2-3 Saturdays during the semester.
