Business and Entrepreneurship?
The Leadership Community in Business and Entrepreneurship (LCBE) is a unique living/learning opportunity for students of all majors interested in entrepreneurship, leadership, and/or business.
Academic Leadership Seminar
Floor members earn one semester hour participating in the Leadership Community - Academic Leadership Seminar. This seminar course involves professional enrichment activities, academic skill enhancement, and develops leadership skills. Community activities include:
- Guest speakers – Corporate Executives and Entrepreneurs

Faculty interaction; Entrepreneur Association
- Community Service/Service Learning
- Social Activities, including movie nights, bowling,
and picnics
The majority of Leadership Community activities are scheduled during class time making it easy for floor members to participate, network, gain knowledge and grow at The University of Iowa.
Where is it located?
There are 50 spaces on this coed floor in Currier Hall, located within a block of the Henry B. Tippie College of Business, the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, and campus. Currier Hall includes a newly remodeled living environment, including a multi-purpose room, fitness center, and Instructional Technology Center, In addition, each room is equipped with Ethernet connection.
Why is living in the Leadership Community unique?
Members of this community form a close bond as they live together and share common interests in leadership, entrepreneurship, and business. Programs and activities are geared toward these areas. In this quiet house environment, students have the opportunity to focus on their area of interest, form informal study groups, and make relationships that will last a lifetime.
How do I apply?
We are looking for 50 students who would like to develop their leadership skills and be active, involved participants in the community. Interested applicants must request the Leadership Community in Business and Entrepreneurship option on the UI housing application. This community is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
