As the MBA Representative on the 2011-12 Tippie Build Steering Committee, I was directly involved in raising over $50,000 for the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity. This year marked the 5th year the Tippie College of Business partnered with Habitat to build a house and raise the required funds. As a Steering Committee member, I directly facilitated two fundraisers and volunteered to work at numerous others throughout the year, including Tippie Build BBQ, 5K Run, Putt-Putt at Coral Ridge Mall, and numerous build days at the work site. Through our weekly meetings we were able to budget and plan fundraising efforts throughout the year.
On May 5th, Tippie Build and Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity dedicated the house to the family. Numerous TCOB and community members were involved to turn over the keys of the house and celebrate the support given to each organization.
