Well where to begin…the past 2 weeks have been crazy….Summerfest in Milwaukee, the 4th of July weekend in Chi town, and Week 7 of 12 at Kraft Foods is over.
Beer and Brats!
Two weekends ago, I took the Amtrak from Chicago to Milwaukee to visit one of my best friends who is interning at Kohl’s. I’ve never really experienced the city of Milwaukee and had never attended Summerfest…despite growing up in northern Illinois and being equal distance to Milwaukee and Chicago… so I was excited for a new city and adventure. Friday
night on the town but Saturday was jammed of Milwaukee fun. We visited to Miller Valley where every 2 minutes they said “It’s Miller Time!” I must admit I like the Budweiser tour in St. Louis better, but hey I’ll never deny free samples. That night we hit up Summerfest and were planning to see Sara Evans or Bare Naked Ladies but the weather didn’t quite cooperate. So instead, we had huge ice cream sundaes and bought very fashionable ponchos and were in bed early!
Tippie Reunion Chicago Style
Last weekend was my best weekend this summer!!!!! My two best friends came to Chicago and somehow we managed to pack everything into the weekend….and then some. I’ll spare you the play-by-play details but we shopped on Michigan Ave, saw the fireworks through the city skyline on July 3rd on a rooftop in Lincoln Park with another Tippie classmate and went to a Cubs Game!! This was my first Cubs game ever (sorry I’m a White Sox fan) and we went to the Wrigley Done Right Rooftop….AWESOME! After the game we met up with about 10 other Tippie classmates and recent grads. I felt like I was in Iowa City on game day. I guess didn’t realize how lucky I am to have met some truly amazing people….and I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed them this summer!
Week 7 of 12 Complete
Tomorrow is the end of my 7th week at Kraft Foods. The summer has really gone fast. A couple weeks ago we had breakfast with the CEO Irene Rosenfeld where she first spoke and we were able to then ask questions. I was brave and asked her about Kraft’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in this difficult economy. I was very impressed with her answer to this question and the many others and I must admit I felt a little star struck meeting her. Anyways, I continue to make great progress on my 3 projects and am presenting to our Director next week. I feel pretty confident in my work and hope to provide a “wow” factor using some tricks I learned in D&D (thank you Jeff Ohlman).
Ok I think that’s it for now. I hope you enjoyed the pictures…..until next time remember: “make today delicious”
