Mark Van Heukelom

Hometown:  Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Undergrad: Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois)– B.A. in Economics (2010)

Current city:  Iowa City, IA

Current employment:  Just finished my first year of law school here at the University of Iowa and I’m ready for another exciting challenge!  I just completed an externship with the Johnson County, IA Attorney’s Office as well as an internship with a small litigation law firm.

Why he chose Tippie:  In addition to the convenience of pursuing two degrees at the same university, I believe Tippie’s focus on hands-on experience adds great value to the MBA program.

Something interesting about Mark:   I recently got engaged to my high school sweetheart and I have a puppy named Ernie.

Lydia joined Tippie in 2008 as Associate Director of Recruiting and Admissions, where she recruits new students to join Tippie every fall. She oversees digital communications, including email, social media and blogging, and coordinates Tippie’s calendar of recruiting events. Lydia earned her BBA in Marketing (2002) and her MBA in 2010, both from the University of Iowa. She's also venturing into the world of teaching this year, leading a course on Social Media Marketing for undergrad business students. She and her husband Nathan have a daughter, born in 2012, and two rowdy furbabies: Simon, a deranged cat, and a miniature schnauzer named Kitty.
