Editor’s Note: This is part of a series of profiles we’ll be posting over the summer to introduce everyone to our incoming Class of 2014. Enjoy getting to know our new students as they get to know each other, our current students, staff, and the entire Tippie community!
Lawrence Epperly

Lawrence and his wife at a Chicago Cubs spring training game.
Hometown: Milan, Illinois (about an hour from the University of Iowa)
Undergrad institution: The University of Iowa (BBA in Finance)
Current city: North Liberty, IA
Current employment: I am a Table Games Floor Supervisor at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. I am responsible for tracking players’ gaming activity and making sure everything on the Table Games is functioning smoothly.
Why I chose Tippie: Tippie has a lot to offer. With my wife in medical school at Iowa, it was a logical logistical choice. I also got to see the benefits that Iowa has to offer while I did my undergraduate work here. I was very excited about the academy structure of the program and the fact that placement rates were so good for both internships and job offers.
Something unique about me: I love to challenge myself. I have recently lost 70 pounds while working out with Crossfit. I have had the opportunity to do things that I couldn’t before such as skydiving and completing a Spartan Race. My next challenges hopefully include riding a real bull and heli-skiing down a mountain.
