Fall Experiences

A group of first year students and friends enjoying the Aegon sponsored tailgate! (myself included)

I can’t believe how fast the first 8 weeks at Tippie have gone by. This week begins our first round of finals. For the most part though I am not too concerned about how I’ll perform. I’ve been amazed at how willing all of our professors have been to give guidance and offer up any help they can. I’ve felt more supported in my first 8 weeks here at Tippie than I did through my entire undergraduate career. I can not say enough about every member of the Tippie faculty.

Besides the fact that we have some major tests ahead of us this week, this fall has offered up some wonderful experiences outside of the classroom as well! We have already had 2 great company sponsored tailgates by Aegon and Eaton. Company presentations have included big names from Amazon to Best Buy giving students the opportunity to speak one on one with representatives about internship and full-time employment opportunities. The first years have even been given the opportunity to flex their networking skills at a mock cocktail event with local business persons, faculty, and former Tippie alumni!

It’s been a busy fall so far with lots of exciting events to come! We’ll keep you posted!

About Kelly Peacock

Hi! I’m Kelly Peacock, 2012 MBA candidate. I have my Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Iowa in Biology, focusing in Genetics and Biotechnology.  I spent the last 2 years working as the Store Manager for Vanity, a juniors clothing retailer, in Coralville, IA. I am excited to be starting the full-time MBA program here at Tippie and intend to focus in Marketing. In my free time (I’m optimistic that I’ll still have at least a little bit) I enjoy running, spending time with my fiancé fixing up our condo in Iowa City, and visiting family in the Quad Cities.
