Our new Dean for the Tippie College of Business will be speaking at an all-college meeting today. Sarah Gardial joins us from Tennessee and has sparked many of us with her energy to move forward from the position of strength that Curt Hunter provided here at Tippie. It is exciting to hear her push us to think big. For any alums out there that are reading this: share your dreams for our School of Management by posting here! What would you like to see in your dream world? We can’t ask for it if we don’t know what it is. What do you think would make our program exceptional?

About Catherine Zaharis

Cathy joined Tippie in 2008 as the Business Director of the Finance Career Academy. Her experience as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst with Principal Global Investors (1982-2005) makes her a valuable asset, both in terms of her expertise of the industry and her many business connections. Cathy obtained her BBA from The University of Iowa and an MBA from Drake University. She has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1986 and is a past president of the CFA Society of Iowa.

   The dream of a better program at Tippie starts from the students who are admitted into the program. Diversity is important for a program to truly be considered as global MBA program but what must be kept in mind that in the pursuit of diversity, quality of students being admitted into the program should not suffer. During the admission of students, especially international students, select international alums and current international students should be involved in the admission process as alums and current students have a stake in the Tippie brand.
