With the goal of strengthening our Iowa City community and the community within the Tippie College of Business, students, staff, and faculty are working to raise $50,000 and build a home for a local family in need. We will accomplish this through a partnership with the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to building affordable and safe homes for low-income working families.

Through our act of giving someone else a hand-up, we hope to show how much we appreciate the countless hands-up others have given us.

The first Tippie Build was completed during the 2006 - 2007 school year. It was the largest community service project in the history of the College of Business. Not only did we build a home for Ballah Sanoh and his family in Iowa City, but 10% of the funds raised were used to build homes for two families in Ghana.

In 2008-2009 we expanded on the success of the first Tippie Build and built a "green" energy efficient home in Iowa City for a two-parent family with three children.
