On Sunday, April 19th, the American Marketing Association will be hosting a golf event at Brown Deer Golf Club. This event is based around teaching current students how to golf in a professional setting. The event itself will be a 4-person best shot format and the teams will be comprised of three students and one faculty member from the Tippie College of Business or a business professional from the community. As an organization, we have recognized the importance that the game of golf has had in the business environment. Some have even considered the golf course to be one of the greatest business tools available for its numerous benefits including: four hours or more of one-on-one time with clients or potential employers, allows all individuals involved to feel relaxed, allows one to see different sides of individuals, and much more. In order to reach individuals of different skill sets when it comes to the game of golf, we have set up our event in a way to tailor the needs of everyone. Part one of the event is for those who have played golf and want to understand how to apply the game in a professional business setting. This will be done by groups of three students golfing 18 holes with a professor or a business professional with experience in business golf. Part two of the event is for those that have never played, and or would like to learn more about how to play the game of golf. This will be done by experienced golfers and those trained in giving lessons and instructions to participants.
