The Multicultural Business Student Association is a University of Iowa student organization which believes that diversity is necessary for businesses to operate in our current global economy. VOTE for next years executive board members at tonight’s meeting! 6pm in the Michigan Room.
There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, April 15th at 6pm in the Michigan Room. You will be required to declare which positions you plan on running for (up to 2). We will also be covering the voting process and what will be required from you on the day of voting (April 22).
Here is a list of the available positions:
VP of Recruitment- In charge of recruiting and retaining members. Keeps members engaged by communicating with them and informing them of upcoming meetings.
VP of Marketing- Promote events through the design and distribution of posters, maintain and update the MBSA website and Social Media, promote MBSA at Student Org Fair
VP of Events- Create and organize major MBSA events by scheduling speakers, booking rooms, purchasing food and raffle prizes, and requesting sponsorship from other organizations
VP of Community Service- Keep MBSA members engaged with the community by organizing volunteer activities, charitable giving, and partnerships with other service based organizations
VP of Finance- Apply for funding from UISG and TCOB, create and plan budgets, approve all purchase requests, raise funds through businesses, ensure sufficient funds are in accounts at all times
This year we are happy to announce Robert McMullen, U.S. Foreign Service Ambassador, and Helen Jameson, Founder of Culture Friendly Consulting, as our speakers. The speakers will be covering global and domestic issues to include: cultural diversity, diplomacy, human rights, and the global business environment.

This event is open to the public and food has been provided by Oasis Falafel, Best China, and India Cafe.
Come hear some of our international members share important cultural information about their countries including languages, greetings, business and dining etiquette. The event is located in the International Commons located on the first floor of the Old Capitol Center (near the Office of Study Abroad). Food and beverages will be provided!
Meeting Tonight at 6:30pm in room S401 PBB. We a speaker talking about opportunities with Teach For America as well as a speaker talking about CIMBA and other study abroad opportunities. Don’t miss out!

What to Wear is tonight, October 15th, starting at 6:30pm in room W401 in the Pappajohn Business Building. We will speakers from Banana Republic and GAP talking about fashion tips using our own MBSA live models and discussing career opportunities. Come early to enjoy some pastries from DeLuxe and refreshments.
The next meeting will be Monday October 8th at 5:30pm on the patio outside of Tippie (weather permitting, back up location will be at the south commons near the tippie view tv’s)
