Pappajohn Business Building Resources & Hours
Available Parking Areas Parking Ramps: Two
public parking ramps within walking distance to Pappajohn Business Building
and Pomerantz Center (view
on a map). The Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) Ramp and
the North Campus Ramp are both located on and accessible from Madison Street.
The parking rate in the afternoon/evening hours is $.75 for the first hour,
then $.90/hour after that. Parking ramp fees may be paid by cash or check. Graduated
rates apply for daytime parking; for rates go to the Public
Parking Facilities page. Surface Lots (after 4:30 pm M-F, and all day Saturday and Sunday): Metered Street Parking: Parking is also available along the streets surrounding the John Pappajohn Business Building. There is a charge for street parking from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but parking is free after 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday and all day on Sunday. (The information listed was accurate at the time of posting this message. However, make sure to read the posted hours on the meter to ensure these city parking meter regulations have not changed.) Parking Beneath Pappajohn Building (evening only): The metered parking lot located in the lower level of the John Pappajohn Business is available to the general public from 4:30 pm - 7:30 am Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Meters are $.90/hour and are enforced 24 hours/day. Any vehicle parked at an expired meter is subject to a ticket. Entry to the lot is accessible from Clinton Street. Metered Parking Lot: There is a small metered parking lot that has a 10-hour limit. It is located on the north side of Market St. between Dubuque St. and Clinton St., directly across from the entrance to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. These meters only take quarters and have a rate of $.50 per hour. It is a popular lot so space fills up fast. Non-Metered Street Parking: If you enjoy a little walk, there are some streets in the residential areas north and east of the Pappajohn Business Building where you can park for free. If you would like to use the option you may want to allow for extra time for locating a space and walking. |
