Dean's Welcome

Congratulations! You've taken an important step in advancing your professional career by enrolling in the Tippie MBA Program. Soon you will be busy with team assignments, case analyses, networking, exams, and meeting your fellow students. We're happy that you have chosen our program and hope that you are as excited about the upcoming course work as we are.

The Tippie School of Management has specifically designed the MBA for Professionals and Managers to deliver a world-class business degree while maximizing the flexibility for balancing the demands of family and work. Our faculty travel to Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and the Quad Cities to teach and support the students and businesses of Iowa.

At the Tippie School of Management, our goal is to help you develop yourself both professionally and personally. To do this, we will create a partnership that will provide you with ways to advance your professional and leadership potential. Combining the best possible education with opportunities for professional development is part of the Tippie promise.

In turn, we expect you:

  • To approach the MBA program as an intense professional experience combining classroom learning, practical training, and leadership skill development.
  • To develop a clear personal mission and make effective use of the resources provided to achieve your professional goals.
  • To perform well in the classroom, seek new knowledge, and develop the skills to apply that knowledge to business problems.
  • To engage in professional business behavior by seeking high-quality work and treating faculty, staff, and classmates with respect.

For the Tippie MBA program to continue to grow and improve, we will need your involvement. To make this partnership work well, I will be seeking your advice and input on ways to enhance the program.
