Program Schedule

Preparations

The Henry B. Tippie School of Management will offer the International Program Option (IPO) for MBA-PM student in Spring 2006. The two-week study program in Hong Kong will be held in early May.

MBA-PM students will join the University of Iowa Hong Kong Executive MBA students in a shared class taught by Professor Beth Ingram, DEO of the Department of Economics. The macroeconomics class will technically be 6N:228 International Economic Environment of the Firm. However, the unique setting and format enable us to offer this for elective credit for those who have completed 6N:228 already.

Jumbo, Hong KongThe International Program Option is designed to expand your understanding of the global economy through coursework and dialogue with fellow students, alumni, and other successful global managers. The IPO will also feature a daytrip to Cathay Plastic Factory located in Shenzhen, China.

The expectation and workload for this course is similar to other MBA courses. As such, we discourage participants from attempting to fulfill regular job responsibilities while in Hong Kong.

For specific information, please see the preliminary schedule. The program fee is estimated at $2500. This includes airfare with United Airlines, double-room occupancy at the MetroPark Hotel, select meals, a visa to China, and other miscellaneous items. This does not include tuition for the three-credit course ($1326).
