Team to Compete in Research Challenge

Three MBA students will travel to New York City this week to compete in the finals of the CFA Institute’s Investment Research Challenge.  The Tippie School of Management will be represented in the Americas division finals by Matt Hass, Matt Larew, and Deepak Rohida, members of the 2011 Henry Fund team.  The three analysts advanced to the Apr. 10th finals after winning the Iowa-Nebraska regional on Feb. 17th.

According to the CFA Institute, “the Research Challenge is a global competition which tests the analytic, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills of university students. Last year nearly 2,500 students from over 546 universities in 45 countries participated and learned best practices in equity research from leading industry experts.” Each team analyzes a publicly-traded company, analyzes financial statements, and produces a written research report. The University of Iowa team will present their analysis of Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL)  before a panel of judges and investment professionals.  Good luck Hawkeyes!
