Minor League Baseball

My boys and I are huge fans of minor league baseball. We do not necessarily follow any one team in particular, but merely enjoy the atmosphere of baseball at the minor league level. The crowds are smaller, the players are more accessible, and the game tends to be played at a quicker tempo. The minor [...]

Thank You MBA Students!

On Saturday evening, my wife and I had the opportunity to attend the MBA Spring Ball and awards dinner. It was an enjoyable event and a wonderful opportunity to interact with our students as the academic year comes to a close. I wish to thank the MBA students for selecting me as this year’s Finance [...]

Zombie Invasion

Those walking through the halls of the Tippie College this week may notice an increase in zombie activity, especially concentrated near the computer lab, vending machines, and Pat’s Diner.  The Henry Fund and Krause Fund analysts are turning in final drafts of their semester research today, and many of the teams have spent long hours [...]

25 Years of Tax Preparation

After eight hours in front of the computer, it was a relief to finally submit the e-filed returns. In my Wealth Management course, we [...]

Fracking has become an industry standard for extracting natural gas trapped in bedrock deep underground. Natural gas drilling and production has grown substantially [...]

Busted Brackets

March Madness is officially over, and the Major League Baseball season is underway. Last Monday night, the No. 1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats claimed the men’s NCAA Basketball Championship. This was good news for the index bracket discussed in my March 12 post. Checking the results of my online brackets in ESPN’s Tournament Challenge, my index or “chalk” entry, which [...]

We survey the 13 analysts across ten macro-economic variables, with each analyst providing his or her short-term (6 month) and intermediate-term (2 year) forecasts.
