MBA Seminar in International Business with European Study Opportunity
This spring the Tippie School of Management has introduced a new International Business Seminar for MBA students interested in international business. Nine first-year MBA students are taking part in this year's seminar.
This seminar contains two sections worth up to six-credit hours which can be applied towards the MBA International Business Concentration. Section one is a two-credit lecture held on-campus during the spring semester, and is taught by an Iowa faculty member, William Albrecht. Section two requires student to take part in one of the three European summer English language business programs available to Tippie MBA students. The three European universities are as follows: Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, the Wirtscjaftsuniversitat-Wien (WU-Wien) in Vienna, Austria, and the European Business School (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. Each school offers a unique program, and brief descriptions of each program are set out below.
The on-campus portion of the seminar was available only to those students intending to participate in one of the European summer programs, and full credits will be applied to their spring transcripts. Students not interested in the six-hour seminar, can still take part in any of the three European summer programs, but such credits will counted as summer and not spring credits.
