| H. John Hawkinson | Every fall we select a group of students to participate in the Hawkinson Scholars Program. We | ||||||||
| provide these students with resume assistance, mock interviewing, and career coaching. We bring | |||||||||
| Articles & Photos | in speakers from a variety of companies and industries to help inform scholars of potential career | ||||||||
| opportunities that many students are unaware of. We also have an extensive network of contacts | |||||||||
| Henry B. Tippie | within companies that do not recruit on campus. We use this network to open doors for students, | ||||||||
| College of Business | helping them secure internship opportunities and career options. | ||||||||
| Application Form | What type of student makes a good scholar? | ||||||||
| We look for well-rounded, energetic and ambitious students with the drive to pursue careers in | |||||||||
| investment banking, financial services, and management consulting. In particular we look for | |||||||||
| superior academic performance (GPA of 3.5+), demonstrated leadership through involvement in | |||||||||
| extracurricular activities, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a hunger for | |||||||||
| opportunity. While most Scholars are finance or business majors, the Institute wishes to attract | |||||||||
| students with diverse backgrounds and a variety of interests. | |||||||||
| How do you apply to become a scholar? | |||||||||
| We accept applications from any undergraduate who is at least one year from graduation. The | |||||||||
| application consists of filling out a two page application, completing an essay question and a short | |||||||||
| informal interview. The application deadline is September 30, with the interviews being conducted in | |||||||||
| November. A link to the application form is available on the left hand menu or can be picked up in | |||||||||
