As the head of corporate planning for Avnet, the largest worldwide distributor of computer equipment and electronic components, Ms. Bassett is responsible for working with Avnet's executive leaders to facilitate the development of forward-looking strategies designed to position the company for competitive advantage.

Mr. Detmer's extensive background includes over 15 years of experience as head of entrepreneurial companies. He raised over $90 million in venture capital to fund 4 separate enterprises and he took one company public and bought and sold 5 businesses with a total value of over $550 million in business assets. Laura Desmond - Chief Executive Officer, Starcom MediaVest Group, The Americas

After a stellar career with Leo Burnett, in which she worked on such accounts as Heinz, McDonalds, and General Motors, Laura Desmond joined MediaVest in 2000. Now the CEO of one of the largest media communications organizations in the world, Ms. Desmond leads a workforce of almost 2,000 people worldwide with 110 offices in 67 countries.

Scott Heiferman - Executive Officer, Meetup.com

Scott Heiferman is co-founder of Meetup.com, a website that helps people use the internet to organize local community groups with local offline meetings. Previously, he founded Fotolog (the leading photo blog service) and i-traffic (the first online ad agency). MIT Technology Review named Mr. Heiferman "Innovator of the Year" during 2004 for his work with Meetup.com. Mr. Heiferman is an alumnus of The University of Iowa.

John Smith - President & Chief Executive Officer, CRST International

Family-owned CRST International was founded in 1955 by Herald Smith, father of CEO John Smith, who became President & CEO in 1983. Nine years later, he was named Regional Entrepreneur of the Year, an award sponsored by Inc. Magazine, Ernst & Young, and Merrill Lynch. In his earlier years, Mr. Smith attended Cornell College.
