Achieving through Diversity

Diversity is a critical component of success, not just an optional one. With that in mind, we have created a collaborative learning environment: From your first day of IMPACT week, you work as part of a diverse team assembled in advance. Because of our strong commitment to diversity, we take great care to put together groups of individuals with a range of personal histories, skills, and work experience. You work closely with classmates from different backgrounds and achieve results together.

Organizations Supporting Diversity

We recognize that minorities and women face unique challenges within organizations, and several student groups exist to address these challenges. On campus the National Association of Women MBAs and the Minority MBA Student Association provide assistance, training, and activities for women and minorities in their professional development and career searches. In addition, Tippie supports outreach events, including participation in national conferences of professional organizations like the National Black MBA Association, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and Graduate Women in Business.

International Diversity

Although our location is solidly in the middle of the United States, Tippie attracts top students from all over the world. As a result, you meet classmates from cultures very different from your own. To help our students make these connections, we sponsor a series of events designed to learn more about the different cultures that are represented at Tippie. For instance, you can participate in a feast for the Asian Lunar New Year, and celebrate Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights – just two of the celebrations and educational opportunities that Tippie hosts each year.

Scholarships and Assistantships

If you’re from an underrepresented minority group, you may be eligible for student aid. For more information, please see the Financial Aid page.
