What We Do For You.

From the moment you arrive on campus, we will help you develop your skills and open opportunities for you.

Develop Skills

During your first semester as an MBA candidate, you’ll enhance your job-search skills through the MBA Competitive Prep class. During Competitive Prep, you’ll take Harvard’s CareerLeader® self-assessment to help you identify a career path that is a “right-fit” with your long-term goals. You’ll hone your resume development, letter writing, interview skills, and learn to conduct effective company research, reach the unreachable person, and develop your network. By the time you contact potential employers, these skills will be second nature because you’ll have practiced using them with our alumni volunteers.

In addition, you’ll participate in events such as networking nights and hear presentations by guest speakers. In this way, you will expand your list of contacts, hear the latest information on MBA careers, and learn what it takes to land the role that interests you. Professional consultants will practice interviewing with you so that you're in good "interviewing shape" by the time recruiting starts.

Uncover Opportunities

Throughout the year, we develop new employer relationships and keep in touch with established recruiting contacts. We invite employers to campus to present and to interview, and also participate in consortium events each fall, introducing you to the global MBA job market. In addition, we actively pursue relationships with companies that have openings but are unable to recruit on campus to keep Tippie MBAs top-of-mind when hiring needs arise.
