Entrepreneurship
The entrepreneurship concentration challenges you to explore the process of identifying high growth opportunities. You learn what it takes to create, build, and lead a successful business and work in an entrepreneurial capacity within corporate organizations. You shadow successful entrepreneurs to learn strategies and management practices. Community innovators teach elective courses providing “real-world” expertise.

06T:220 Entrepreneurship and Innovation
An introduction to the entrepreneurial process from conception to birth of a new venture; attributes of successful entrepreneurs, innovation and creativity, opportunity recognition, venture screening, identification of resources, feasibility analysis. Prerequisite: 06N:215. (3 credits)

06T:233 Finance for Entrepreneurs
Understanding the process of capital acquisition and cash flow management; techniques, applications, projections, valuations, and measurements used in both, specific applications to new and growing ventures. Prerequisites: 06N:225

Issues faced by new, rapidly growing businesses; adapting organizational structure as business expands, building a management team, hiring new employees, managing strategic growth of a business; case studies, particularly in technology sector.

Special topics in entrepreneurship. Examples include business acquisition, franchising, real estate, business valuation, and technology transfer. (3 credits)

writing proposals, developing final reports. Prerequisite:
