If you are interested in graduate degrees in both business and another field, you may complete degree requirements more quickly by enrolling in one of our combined degree programs. Choose from excellent graduate schools in medicine, law, hospital administration, and more. If the established programs do not match your needs, just ask and we will help you to build a program tailored to your personal interests.

To enroll in a combined degree program, you must apply to and be accepted by both the Tippie School of Management and the other program in which you are interested. More detailed information on our combined-degree programs is listed below.

In addition to the programs listed above, students may tailor their own combined degree program with approval of the Director of Student Services and the faculty advisor from another academic department.

MBA/JD

The MBA/JD combined degree program is a four-year degree program. You complete the required first-year courses in each program during the first two years of study. Typically, you complete the required law courses the first year and the required MBA courses the second year.

MBA/MD

The MBA/MD combined degree program is a five-year degree program. You complete the required first- and second-year courses in the MD program. The third year consists of MBA courses. Remaining requirements for each degree are completed during the fourth and fifth years of study.

MBA/MHA

The combined degree program in health administration (MHA) requires completion of 75 credit hours:

Core requirements for each program
12 credit hours of MBA elective coursework
3 credit hours of electives from the Health Management and Policy program

MBA/MSN

Most students in the MBA/MSN program enroll on a part-time basis. This program requires completion of 61 credits:

39 credits of MBA coursework.
22 credits of nursing.

Note: Part-time students must complete courses through the MBA-PM program.

MBA/MLIS

The MBA/MLIS program requires completion of 60 credits: up to 9 credits of MBA coursework is counted toward the MLIS; up to 9 credits of MLIS work is counted toward the MBA. You must develop a plan of study approved by academic advisers in each unit.
