What is the FMA?
FMA International is a professional organization of financial executives, analysts, professors, and students who live and work around the world. FMA International is currently the largest finance organization devoted to bridging the gap between finance theory and practice. The University of Iowa chapter of the FMA is an undergraduate organization that is devoted to professional development and provides students with an opportunity to learn about the financial marketplace. Professionals in the financial community speak at our meetings to give insight about their career fields and professional experiences. Each year, the FMA participates in a career field trip. The FMA is a great way to explore career opportunities, meet your fellow classmates, and get more involved on campus.
How can I join?
You need not be a finance major to join the FMA. All majors are welcome. Joining is as simple as attending one of our meetings. You can also contact one of your local FMA officers and they will take care of you. In either case, once dues are paid and your application is filled out, you have access to all the benefits that FMA has to offer.

That said, FMA offers great experiences and valuable professional contacts at our many meetings and social events throughout the semester. In addition, active members may qualify for some of their costs to be covered when the chapter travels to a major financial center (Chicago, Minneapolis, etc). In short, the more meetings you attend, the more you will benefit from being a part of the FMA.
