Galen D’Attilio

Place of Origin: Los Angeles, CA

Undergraduate Institution: Emerson College

Major: Interactive Media

Current City: Asolo

About You: Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I came to appreciate digital forms of expression; I ran a web design business for artists local to the area and spent summer months building/repairing computers for family friends.

Job/Experience Previous to CIMBA MBA: Starting as a Production Assistant at Sony Pictures Imageworks, I delved into the web industry at the web-entertainment company JibJab in operations.  After briefly studying finance/accounting at UC – Los Angeles, I worked in finance for JibJab and eventually arrived at MTV Networks, working for Comedy Central and Spike brands.

Reason for choosing the CIMBA MBA: Although creative expression was my calling in my youth, my desire for Human contact drove me to decide that understanding and managing relationships was a higher calling.  Since my sophomore year of college, I had been planning to attend an MBA program, and eight years later, I’ve realized that dream.  I selected CIMBA because it specializes in Human relationships and managing one’s self; in other words – leadership.  The CIMBA MBA program emphasizes that success is achieved through leadership rather than control, a fundamental key to management.

The CIMBA Experience So Far: The CIMBA MBA is a fully integrated and interactive experience that puts the student in the role of a problem-solver.  Great emphasis is placed on the decision-making process, which is reflected in the daily lives of the students.  So far, I’ve learned much about operating in a team, creating goals, analyzing problems, developing solutions, and making decisions.  We’re currently working on team-building in preparation for our consulting projects.

Goals: I will define my character, learn how to apply my strengths, obtain my Italian citizenship, and find what work I am passionate about the most.
