Monte Grappa

Monte Grappa is a 1,775 meters (5,823 ft) tall mountain in the Veneto region of Italy. Part of the Alpine foothills, the mountain is divided between the provinces of Vicenza, Treviso and Belluno. Monte Grappa can be seen from the CIMBA common room.

For years, Monte Grappa has been a popular destination for Italians, tourists, and CIMBA students. The mountain is decorated with trails that grant access to hikers and bikers! Cycling events are a frequent occurrence on the mountain side and Grappa has been home to the Giro D’Italia four times, most recently in 2010. For more information on cycling to the top, you can go to the Biciveneto website.

Of course you are not required to have una bicicletta to reach the top of the mountain. The numerous trails provide access to the traditional hiker as well. Along your journey, there are many places to stop for a picnic, so remember to stop at the tabacchi on your way and grab un panino. Most importantly, don’t forget to bring plenty of water!
