Okay “rapidly” may be a bit of an exaggeration, but whoa what a difference from just a week and a half ago. It’s a bit refreshing though, and I finally get to wear all my warm fall/winter clothes that I packed so heavily for and have yet been able to wear! I guess the heat lasting so long into the fall season was very unusual for Italy and Europe in general, but an extended summer season…. I didn’t hate it.
Friday a big group of us will be leaving for Florence. Saturday we hope to see the David, go to a few museums, and then check out the nightlife we’ve been hearing so much of. Sunday hopefully we can fit in a wine or olive oil tour! I haven’t done one yet and I will not be leaving Italy until I do this. We leave later in the evening Sunday so it shouldn’t be a problem.
The past couple of days I’ve been sick. Not too sure what I had, maybe the flu, but Nurse Ivanna gave me some medicine and sent me on my way. She was all smiles that morning, made me feel a little hopeful that I wasn’t going to be sick forever (yes I know,I have an exaggeration problem). It took a while to feel better, but I feel like a new person from sleeping all the way through Monday and Tuesday morning. Something must have been in the air in Slovenia… whatever it was I hope to never ever cross paths with it again.
Dinner time! CIMBA staff just met with the food director here about getting more of the food we’ve been requesting… so far it’s been improving, although it’s no Italian gourmet 5 course meal, it’ll do
