Notes from Ken Brown, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs

A Very Big Deal for Tippie and Laura Nass

lauranass_bigTippie Senior Laura Nass was awarded the 2010 Hancher-Finkbine Medallion last night at an award ceremony at the Iowa Memorial Union.  Laura, an Economics major, is only the thirteenth College of Business student since 1966 to win this award.  She follows in the foot steps of Erin Cavanagh (Tippie Class of 2009) who was awarded the Hancher-Finkbine Medallion last year.  It was great to meet Laura’s parents (Dave and Gay) and her boyfriend (Moussa) at the event.  Make sure to congratulate Laura the next time you see her in class.

Ken Brown has been teaching at the University of Iowa since 1998. Despite being born in Texas and growing up in Maryland, Ken is almost an Iowa native. His parents met here in graduate school back in the 1960's, and married soon thereafter. Without the fantastic programs here at the University to lure people from all over, Ken wouldn't be here today. Or be anywhere for that matter. View Ken's Tippie profile.
