Notes from Lon Moeller, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs

A Very Tippie Open House

Yesterday afternoon, we hosted an open house for first-year University of Iowa students who are interested in studying business at the Tippie College of Business.  This was part of the University’s On Iowa! orientation for first-year University students.  We served Heyn’s Ice Cream (another Iowa City favorite) – chocolate, vanilla and chocolate/vanilla “twist.”  I had the chance to meet some of our new students – some from the Chicago area, a couple from Muscatine, one from northwest Iowa near my birthplace of Spirit Lake, two or three from the Twin Cities area, others from Iowa City, a few from China and one from La Porte City near Waterloo, Iowa.  It was cool to see Dean Gardial get the chance to meet our first-year business students – she was a big hit. It was also good to catch up with some Tippie faculty – Kevin Den Adel, Ken Brown, Nancy Hauserman, Stacey Brook, Nick Street, Brian Richman, Todd Houge and Gary Russell among others.
