Practice Interbusiness Document

Topic for Interbusiness Letter

You are a manager with the manufacturing firm of ToolTime, Inc. You have been asked to write a letter that will be sent to all of ToolTime's branch offices and subsidiary concerns, explaining some changes in the product line. In your letter, you must cover the following points:

  1. The retail price of ToolTime's seamless forged socket wrenches is being raised by 15%. This is because manufacturing costs for the wrenches have increased by 10%.
  2. ToolTime's standard adjustable-head wrenches are no longer being manufactured, because they have been made obsolete by a new line of adjustable-head wrenches with improved grip.
  3. ToolTime's Atlanta manufacturing plant is now responsible for the production of the new adjustable-head wrenches. The Denver plant that used to produce the old adjustable-head wrenches will now concentrate on industrial chain winches and pulleys.
  4. In the past, ToolTime has used a combination of LIFO and FIFO inventory. Because this has led to inventory pile-up and obsolescence, only FIFO will be used from now on.

You may address the letter to:
ToolTime Branch Offices and Subsidiaries
Various Addresses
Various Cities, USA
